Another one of my favorite sellers was Butterscotch ans Beesting Confectionery & Magic, her work is beautiful and the concept so clever I would love to see alot more of her work! She sells sweets and potions amongst other itemss that are all based around stories that she has created of Betty Butterscotch and her circus animals. I can't do her work much justices you need to vist her website yourself it is stunning! I treated myself to a yummy bag of Betty Butterscotch's Swirly Snails. I loved the story on the back of the packaging and they tasted yummy!

Make Do And Mend

Tuesday, 12 July 2011

Hello!
I hope you all had a good weekend!? I have been busy working on some new drawings over the past few days around the theme of Make do and Mend. I love all the illustrations found in the original leaflets from the Second World War and wanted to create a collection of my own inspired by the original illustrations. I have done a few illustrations of buttons and cotton reels, but I am still working on a ball of wool, and some illustrations similar to the ones found in the original make do and mend leaflets.

So here is a sneaky peek at a few of my illustrations... still not sure what to do with them yet might just make buttons with them... or some earrings.... necklace... the options are endless.

will keep you posted once I have some more finished.

Tea for two... mmm yes please!

Friday, 8 July 2011

Hello,
I would like to call this research for some new items but.....it was also very enjoyable! This is one of mine and my sisters favourite places for afternoon tea,
Mill farm Tea gardens http://millfarmteagardens.co.uk it’s a small farm house in a little village called South Milford. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Leeds city centre, if you don't know the area it is quite hard to find but when you do its worth the effort! If you are going trek out there I would advise to book as it get extremely busy at the weekends.

Me my sister and my boyfriend decided to go for the traditional afternoon tea which comes with a range of sandwiches and a choice of scone, we all went for the amazing chocolate scone with clotted cream and chocolate spread! an over dose on chocolate and to finish it of a piece of yummy carrot cake... and if that doesn't fill you they also give delicious complimentary biscuits before your afternoon tea arrives!

And as this was "research" I took a few pictures

I think our next destination for afternoon tea will be the Black Swan in Helmsley, I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

A Few of my Favourite things .......

Sunday, 3 July 2011

Hello!

So getting a new computer and putting all my old files on my new laptop took a lot longer than I thought, and I still have so much to put on. So that's why again I have neglected my little blog. So I thought on this beautiful afternoon I would do a little blog on 'A few of my Favorite things' (from my house!)

I have been playing around with some images which I took of a few of my objects that have collected over the years for my house and to try and create some clip art from them. So tonight I have spent the night getting use to the new version of photo shop I have and created a little montage.

I got the little blue owl for 50p from a charity shop by the sea, my sister brought me the beautiful button card along with many more from LA I have it framed and hung in my bedroom. All the other items have come from car boot sales and salvage yards. I haven't looked for items for a while, I might have to try and find some new things.

Well enjoy and will be blogging more regularly from now on, Enjoy the rest of your evening
