Designer maker Nook of the North

Monday, 13 October 2014

I'm very lucky to have amazing talented friends! and one of my closest friends Becca is the designer maker behind the stunning Nook of the North. After a little break she has recently re launched her shop with lots of new pretties!

Her work incorporates her love for mid century design and patterns and showcases her amazing ability to combine shape, colour and textures together. Using odd pieces of leather and fabric and the patience to meticulously hand sew each piece she creates unique statement pieces of jewellery.

I love her shapes and colour combinations and her stunning packaging! also hand made, so happy to see her shop back open! and look forward to seeing her future projects!

Have a look at her lovely pins and Instagram

Wood is coming!

Wednesday, 19 March 2014

For a long time now I have not been happy with using Shrink Plastic, it doesn't produce the high quality that I have been wanting to achieve, it was easily breakable and when producing my work there could be a lot of wastage due to items not baking right or splitting.

I wanted to keep the jewellery and my illustrations looking the same but wanted the overall material to be different. I have tried a range of options and have finally found a material that creates the look and style I wanted to achieve, but still keeping my illustrations the same.

WOOD! I have had my illustrations printed onto wood and then laser cut, there have been a few teething problems but they are finally ready! I will be photographing the items next week and they will be available to purchase very soon. I am really excited about using wood and have been busy designing lots of new teacups and cupcakes to add to the current range as well as expanding on my seaside range, which will be available in time for the summer. So here are a few sneaky pics of Jodie Anna in wood!

That means sadly no more shrink plastic, but fear not I am working on some 'Do It Yourself' shrink plastic kits, shrink plastic is a brilliant material and you can create some really good products, I am producing some exclusive designs for these kits to let you guys have ago at creating some jewellery your self!

Moving Jodie Anna forward and working in wood has finally made me fall in love with Jodie Anna again and I am working on lots of new ideas, lots of exciting projects for 2014..... including blogging on a regular basis... I PROMISE.

Thanks for reading!

Hello!

I have been working on lots of new items lately and had a chance to put a few on Etsy this afternoon. I'm still working on two more items that have taken a bit longer to make. Here are a few images of the new items on Etsy. I will put some pics up over the weekend hopefully when I finish my new piece!! I still have no computer so been finding it a bit hard to get online and post. So hopefully soon I will be able to create some photo montages xxx Until then have a great weekend.

Postcard brooch

Friday, 27 May 2011

Hello,

I've been working on some new items the past couple of days all related to the seaside....which by 6pm tonight I will be!! yeah! I did some illustrations of an old 1960's caravan like the one my grandma and grandad use to take me on holiday in every year along with other illustrations such as an Ice cream, deck chair, suite cases, postcard and postage stamp.

Once I did my illustrations I put them all together with my previous images to create a postcard brooch. the first one I did came out a little too large but I really like the affect so I created another brooch which came out too small!!! so I will have to keep working on the size. I also created various necklaces but  haven't had chance to photograph these yet, here is a snap shot of the first brooch I made.

Well I'm going to go pack my back ready for my weekend by the sea, hopefully get lots of new ideas and pictures, Enjoy the bank holiday weekend xxxxx
